Victoire Blouse
"I saw a vintage photo of this girl wearing worn in overalls and this gorgeous billowy puff sleeved top. I made up a story in my mind about her. Her weatherworn dungarees and an antique blouse that was her grandmothers who loved to garden."
DETAILS: Our Victorian-inspired Victoire blouse is an homage to timeless design and sustainable craftsmanship. Made from deadstock cotton dobby fabric in a soft pale cream hue, it features intricate lace inserts throughout the bodice and long puffed sleeves, giving it a romantic yet refined feel. The sleeve cuffs are adorned with rows of delicate pintuck pleats and functional buttons for a thoughtful finish. Ethically crafted, this antique inspired blouse is a beautiful blend of classic detailing and modern sustainability.

Sustainable Mindset: At Atèlette, we constantly reflect on the challenges of building a sustainable women's clothing brand, and whenever given the option, we choose the path that aligns with our values. Every decision we make is rooted in ethical, slow fashion principles, ensuring that we do the best we can with the resources and knowledge we have.
Customer Driven Design: Our approach revolves around customer-driven production to minimize unnecessary waste. This distinctive aspect of our business ensures that we produce only the garments that genuinely resonates with our community, aligning with our commitment to sustainability.
Focus on Natural Fibers: We prioritize natural fibers and as a benchmark only try to create garments in fibers that will biodegrade in 20 years or less in a landfill. We try to source overstock of fabrics whenever possible.
Women Owned & Led Manufacturing: Our manufacturing partners in India are minority women owned and led who pay fair labor wages and produce goods with sustainability as one of their core values. As a company owned and led by an immigrant minority woman, this was deeply important for our founder.
The blouse itself is adorable, very delicate and sheer. But Im not sure if it’s just for me, but the fit isn’t quite right. Arms down, the sleeve is too long, but when I lift my arms up, it pulls up close to my elbows. And the bust is just slightly too snug for me. It can be a bit of gamble making a big purchase and not knowing how it will fit, but when you can’t return it, it is a bit disappointing. But I admire the hard work put into each piece at Atelette ~
